GenArts, Special-Effects Software Firm, Gets Big-Name CEO
The official press release is here.
GenArts took some outside venture capital earlier this year from Insight Venture Partners in New York, but the amount wasn't disclosed. The company was founded in 1996.
(I wrote about GenArts, and New England's larger special effects community, in the Globe a few years back.)
Labels: GenArts, Insight Venture Partners, Karl Sims, Katherine Hays, special effects

Woah, cool - It took me a few mouse-clicks to realize it was "the" Karl Sims, who is a real star in the field of artificial life research. You probably know this already, but he did some of the early work on artificially-evolved simulated "creatures." The movie is neat, if you're into that stuff: http://www.karlsims.com/evolved-virtual-creatures.html.

Karl Sims is the man!
hmmm

Congrats on being listed as one of Blogger's "Blogs of note." It doesn't look like your a stranger to "fame," but congrats anyway. :)
