Patrick and Bialecki Wake Up to the Need to Rebrand Mass.
This is a great step forward.... but I'd like to see a pan-New England branding effort get started, rather than pitching each state as an island unto itself.
Or am I being blind to the way state politics always work?

Unfortunately, getting business to come to MA is only one small part of the problem. The real issue is the mindset and culture here in Boston. The y-combinator announcement about leaving the area stated it better than I could:

We may need to focus on fostering innovative companies out of the schools (ie. MIT) and finding ways to get them to stay in the area instead of leaving (Facebook).
I also like the idea of thinking regionally instead of just Boston.
We also like the idea of thinking regionally and we will move in that direction over time.
Scott, you have a lot of great ideas in this area. I am an avid reader of your column and your blog. How can we get you more directly involved in our conversations with industry and academia?
